The Path to Shipping

This page is a timeline to track progress for the development and shipping of the Argo Cargo Kit 2.0.

It is organized as:
Up Next - What still needs to happen. These are our best realistic guesses for timing.
Right Now - What we are currently working on.
Complete - What is already completed.

Dec 2025

Distribution Begins

To the best of our knowledge, we expect to be shipping the Argo Cargo Kit 2.0 to customers.
Nov 2025

Shipping Notification / Marketing push

We expect to hear that our product is assembled, boxed and ready to ship via container and via pallet to our distribution points.
Oct 2025

Preparation for Shipment

Finalize Distribution Points and Agreements to create the best possible shipping scenario.
Sept/Oct 2025

Site for Instructions for Assembly and Rebuild of argobikes.com

With the production product in hand, we can create an instructional website for easy assembly of the Argo, including videos of processes, details about tools and how to know when it is all correct.
Mid/Late September 2025

Final Production Approval

Final changes (last 1%) will be submitted and approved. This is an in-person inspection of: 1. The factories for production 2. Paint/Finishes and fit 3. Assembly 4. Packaging
September 2025

Finalizing detailed small part options

We have run into an issue that potentially leads us to have to make proprietary bushings, so we are exploring better (more universally repairable) options from stock parts. This should not delay any shipments, but it something we would like to get right. At its heart, the Argo is simple, but keeping it simple when you get to the final details can be tricky.
September 2025

Preparation for China and Taiwan Trip for Production Sample

Scott is traveling to China to inspect the final production of the Frame, Fork, Steering components and kickstand. Then he will go to Taiwan to put together the product with the Assembly company to assure packaging and parts are up to the standards and fitment we designed.
August 2025

Kickstand 99% Design Finalization

The kickstand has always been an extremely complicated design due to the constraints and frame limitations. We are on iteration 12 at this point, but are down to only one detail to finalize.

The final design alows ground clearance, is as tough as we could make it... and still allows for rear frame adjustment. Phew...
August 2025

Plywood box revamp

Due to constrictions in availability of materials, we had to re-re-design a few aspects of the Argo Box. Additionally, we have requested for environmentally friendly packaging of paper and cardboard. Here is a quick review:
July 2025

Plywood Box Design Submitted

We have submitted our design to the CNC company along with the paint/decal design. Argo Box Decal
May/June 2025

Heim Joint Reconfiguration

The heim joint availability has caused a design issue for the steering arm. We are opting to modify the rear heim joint to restrict angular rotation using 2 additional flat bushings arranged to slide in one direction while restricting in the other directions.
May 2025

Frame / Fork / Steering Finalized

This has been extremely complicated, as each part was re-designed from version 1.1. Several of the adjustments were monumental. The three most important factors remain: strength, usability and feasibility.
April 2025

PI - Parts Finalized

With over 20 manufacturers involved, we have submitted the final BOM/PI to our trading company to complete an availability check and begin building the pricing. We have requested extra accessories and small parts be on this order so we can begin to fulfill Extra Bike Kits that have been on backorder, as well as the wide bb kits. We also are excited because the SAT (the part that allows you to attach your bike at the fork) is compatible with 15mm, 12mm and 9mm axles. That was no small project.
April 2025

Major Changes to Supply Chain

With the turmoil coming from trade issues, we are moving to a trading company in Taiwan that we have previous connections to. While it will create additional costs, but will ensure we are able to create the product that we have designed.

Additionally, we are moving small part production from China to Taiwan for several reasons, primarily that many of these vital parts had already been produced and these companies had previously been vetted. While this is going to cause a huge (and unknown) time delay, it will also ensure that we get the product done.
Jan 2025

Communication of Changes to Design

We have created a video for our primary vendor to understand (because we speak English and they speak Mandarin) and a thorough checklist of the corrections and changes we need from the sample to production, as well as submitted a BOM for the initial run.
Dec 2024

Private Pre-Sale Begins

We understood that we could get the product finalized and built with an estimated shipment arrival of April of 2025, so our initial estimate of June of 2025 allows for padding.
Nov 2024

Sample Received

It is here. It has myriad problems that are glaring. But with those problems, we are seeing several HUGE opportunities for strength, usability and ease of maintenance.
September 2024

First Sample Ordered

We have placed the order for the first Aluminum Argo Cargo Kit.
